Smarter Car Rentals’ Sustainability Policy

Our vision is to operate a company that is ‘Greener, Cleaner, Smarter’ by only purchasing zero emissions, electric cars, aiming at preserving the environment as well as ensuring the conservation of our Maltese heritage - our preservation areas and towns.
As a conscientious enterprise, Smarter Car Rentals’ goal is to strive towards greener, cleaner operations, following the path to sustainability by:    

1. Optimal use of our financial resources
2. Helping our community and environment 
3. Respecting employees, suppliers and customers 

Smarter Car Rentals invests only in electric, environmentally clean cars. The Renault Twizy – our present choice of vehicle – is economic, fully chargeable in 3 hours from any domestic socket. We have fitted charging points in our car park and garage and we will make use of the charging stations available throughout Malta. Our aim is to aid Malta to become one of the cleanest transport cities in Europe.
By utilising an online approach, via a digital platform, our office is mostly paper free. We are a financially responsible company, operating within ethical and legal practices.
The company’s pricing policy is fair and competitive. Our policies for employees and suppliers are equitable and non-discriminatory.
Smarter Car Rentals’ employees are treated with respect, are registered, paid normal wages (not on commission basis only). We provide training for our staff and hold open dialogue about the company’s policies and way forward.
Our trading policy is to treat our customers with consideration, avoiding touting and chasing the tourists, unlike most of our competitors. We respect their privacy, will honour our Terms of Service and issue refunds as and when due.
As an environmentally responsible company, we have the utmost regard for the eco-system and the use of natural resources. Our policy is to use paper and plastic minimally and we adhere to full recycling procedures.
Smarter Car Rentals works in close collaboration with the Port of Valletta, as well as protected cities like Valletta and Mdina. Our aim is to operate a financially viable company while producing zero emissions and minimum wastage.
